About Gerontology Home Companion

Our company recruits companions who have experience working with older people. We are passionate about finding those men and women who know that working at home with older people is more than a job. They understand that adjusting to an illness or disability can be challenging for older people and their families. Many of the aides have been with us for ten years plus. They came to us with varied backgrounds and training; some are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA's). While others are Certified Home Health Aides (CHHA's). They are screened and tested thoroughly and undergo a short training program to ensure they are delivering the highest standard of care. 

All of our staff have varied experience, caring for clients with various medical needs, such as Heart Disease, Stroke, Arthritis, Diabetes, Cancer, Parkinsons, and other illnesses and levels of ability. 

Some of our aides have additional training working with people with Alzheimers disease and other memory loss disorders. They recognize the special needs of these specific clients and their families and plan appropriate care and activities especially for them.  

We also partner with Twilight Care Agency and Angel Care Hospices. To provide the type of specialist health care that some of our clients may need should a health condition worsen. Through our work with Twilight Care Agency, we are able to carry out Wellness checks and Medical Health Assessments (covered by Medicare).
